Model: Archer BE230
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.4 Build 20250318 rel.31873(5553)

background:

i had a AXE75/axe5400 tri-band easy mesh router set up (with externders, etc.), i updated my ISP modem and had a 2.5g port available, so i updated to a router supporting easymesh and 2.5g (the BE3600/be230).  Trying to upgrade and keep the configurations was quite painful, essentually ended up with installing new router, and h/w resetting old router to get it to be found by binding process so it can be used as a satelite node.   (side note: a FAQ on how to do a router swap would be nice)

i'm manually re-entering data (client names, VPN, dhcp reservations, subnetting, etc). I've seemed to have lost 6ghz band on the old tri-band router?

Question:
i've gotten to DDNS, and it won't let me pick my name as it's already registered.  (It doesn't show on my current ddns screen, and i can select another name).

I've checked using nslookup, and the ddns it's still pointing at my public ip,  so i'm guessing the old router is holding it even though it's in satalite mode.   I would expect it would be tied to my tp-link id,    As the old router is now a satelite, it no longer is individually configurable (as far as i can tell).

Hello@gtb ,

Welcome to our community.

Currently, the TP-Link EasyMesh only supports extending 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz. Most 6G-Supported WiFi 7 Routers also support extending the 6G network. However, MLO/IoT/Guest Wi-Fi can't be extended in an EasyMesh network.

Have you hard reset the AXE75 and set it as the satellite unit?  Please log in to AXE75's Web interface and check if the domain name list is blank.

If not, please Unbind and delete your current domain name from it.
