Deco Mesh is on wireless backhaul instead of ethernet
2 of my 3 mesh points are have had ethernet connection for months and now all of a sudden do not use ethernet backhaul.
I have power cycled them multiple times. I have checked all settings.. A speed test is limited to 200mbps where previously it was 500mbps.
I have all 3 units on the same firmware. Nothing in my network has changed. Not sure why this is happening.

When you set up your new units please make sure they are set up using one of the examples below for Ethernet back haul

@HelpFixDecoApp I already do have it set up that way.. The mesh is in AP mode and all connected to the same switch. I will add 1 BE63 to the network and then make it the main unit. Then I'll add the others and remove the old ones each one at a time.

You said in your original post "A speed test is limited to 200mbps where previously it was 500mbps" have you considered trying a new cable? There was a user who was also having speed issues they were capped at 10 Mbps but they were paying for 1000 down and 50 up. They used a cable tester and it identified 1 x single wire that wasn't punched down just hard enough. Once they fixed the wire the speeds were fine.
Here is a link to that post

@HelpFixDecoApp The same thing happened with our system today. After 10 months of no Ethernet issues, they simply stopped working. I contacted TP-Link and was advised that the Ethernet ports had been turned off and I needed to pay $300 to $400 to have them reactivated. Unbelievable.

That sounds like you were talking to a scammer. Can you send me a message with the phone number and the site you got that number from.
Do not contact them again.
Can you provide me with the Model name and firmware/hardware version of your deco units? You an find the hardware version on the bottom of your deco. You can find the firmware version in the deco app. Click on the More tab then Systems
Also can you please tell us what stoped working on your deco units.

@HelpFixDecoApp The new mesh arrived yesterday. I got all 3 mesh points working one at a time and then removed the old ones the same way. Everything is much better. It shows up with both the downstairs units on Ethernet and the bedroom on wireless as it should. Wireless speedttest almost hit 600mbps. The speedttest from the app was 960/950

Did you switch any of the cables out? Or still using the same cable? IF you kept the same cables then it was either the firmware or a problem with your previous deco's units
I am glad you found something that works for you just a shame you had to buy a new model to get something working.

@HelpFixDecoApp I used the existing cables. Things appear to be better. I'm eventually going to reset each of these older mesh points and see if I can locate one or two of them around here to extend further into my back yard.

@Fireballexpress There is no way to disable or enable Ethernet in the app. They are supposed to always be on..
I'd recommend you open a ticket with TP-Link about it.

Unless your deco supports auto updates, there shouldn't have been a patched pushed, Please view the example in this post and let me know which example best describes your current network setup
