Deco BE75 Main Deco has lower wired internet speeds than wired backhaul Satellite.
I recently switched from Asus ZenWiFi XT9 to the Deco BE75 in June, and I am seeing lower wired speeds on the Main Deco than the Satellite, which is wired Ethernet backhaul.
All cables are new CAT6a, all devices are hardwired, except for Reolink security cameras and a Ring Alarm system.
I have made the following tests below for the advisors at TP-Link.
I have Spectrum 1G speed. I tested with my MacBook Air hooked to the modem, and I am getting 932/37.6. The wired speed on my Mac Studio (Deco Satellite) that supports 10G is 1129/38.1.
I disconnected all CAT 6a cables going from the main Deco to the Apple 4K box, LG OLED TV, and Onkyo A/V receiver, and tested each LAN port on the main Deco that supports 2.5G.
The modem cable is hooked to the 10G port on the main Deco, then from the MacBook Air on the LAN port 1 is 436/37.3. On port 2, it is 493/37.5, and on port 3, it is 442/37.6. With the MacBook Air hooked to the 10G port on the main Deco, I got 507/38.0.
On WiFi 5G, my iPhone is getting over 1120/37.8 Mbps, my MacBook Air is getting 670/37.9, and sometimes higher.
My case has been elevated since June, and I have sent all test results to them, but no one can help me. Now they want to do a TeamViewer request to have access to my MacBook Air, and I don’t like that, and I don’t know what that will accomplish.
On my 2024 LG OLED TV, the CAT6a cable is for updates, as well as the Onkyo A/V receiver. My streaming is from my Apple 4K box hooked to the main Deco LAN port 1, then HDMI 2.1 to the Onkyo A/V receiver. The LG has HDMI 2.1 eARC to the Onkyo, and the readings that I get on my TV using Ookla are 362/38.2 and lower.
I have tested two Apple 4K boxes, a Vizio TV in the Den that gets 943/37.5 on an Apple 4K box hooked to the Deco Satellite. I moved the Vizio TV to the main Deco, and the readings are the same, all lower speeds on Ethernet. Per their request, I have changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8, and QoS is disabled. My firmware is up-to-date.
I hope that someone can help me with this problem.
Thanks,
Daisymay
