Solution Enabling QoS on Archer AX55 V1 May Cause Latency and Buffer Bloat
Hey Everyone,
We received feedback from the community that after updating their Archer AX55 V1 to firmware 1.3.5 or 1.4.1, noticeable latency or buffer bloat may occur when the QoS feature is enabled.
This was initially reported by Zuiko in this thread.
Our development team has identified the cause and recommends the following solutions.
Applies to:
Archer AX55_V1_1.3.5 Build 20241211/1.4.1 Build 20250821
Available Solutions:
Solution 1: Beta Firmware
To address this unexpected behavior, our development team has provided a beta firmware. Zuiko has verified this beta firmware. We recommend downloading and testing this beta firmware for users interested in doing so.
Before Upgrading
(1) It is always recommended to save a copy of the router's Backup Config file before upgrading or downgrading firmware.
(2) For instructions on how to upgrade your Archer Router Firmware, check out: How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers.

Note: We encourage users who are not comfortable with installing beta firmware on their routers to pursue Solution 2.
Solution 2: Revert to the Previous Official Build
If you have updated to version 1.3.5 but do not want to test the beta firmware, you can also download and manually revert to version 1.3.3: Archer AX55(US)_V1_1.3.3 Build 20240628
Note:
- Pre-release and Beta firmware should be used at your own discretion. We cannot guarantee the functionality of features or technical support for Pre-Release or Beta Firmware.
- If you are not comfortable using beta firmware, please wait for the official fix or contact our support teams for assistance.
- Any additional beta firmware for affected models of other models will be added as it becomes available.
- This phenomenon will be addressed in future official firmware updates for affected models.
