Trying to run Cygwin ssh server on Deco network in router mode, access to the server is blocked. Changing the ssh port from 22 to 2222 did not help.

Trying telnet server on port 23 did not work either.

Okay, I understand that you are trying to run SSH and Telnet servers (Cygwin SSH on port 22/2222 and Telnet on port 23) on a device within your Deco Mesh network in router mode, but you are unable to access these servers from outside your network, even after changing the SSH port.

Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot port forwarding issues on your Deco Mesh system:

1. Confirm Internal Accessibility:
Make sure the SSH and Telnet servers are accessible from other devices within your local network. This verifies that the servers themselves are running correctly.

2. Check WAN IP Address:
Ensure you are using the public WAN IP address assigned to your Deco system when trying to access your servers from outside your network. If your WAN IP is private (for example, starting with 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, or 172.16.x.x to 172.31.x.x), port forwarding will not work because your Deco is behind another router or NAT device.

3. Review Server Firewall Settings:
Check the firewall settings on your SSH/Telnet server device to confirm that it allows incoming connections from the external Internet on the ports you have configured (22, 2222, 23, etc.).

If you have followed these steps and port forwarding is still not working, please contact TP-Link support with the results of your troubleshooting for further assistance.

Fails here. The ssh server is running and not firewalled, since it can be accessed by an ethernet connection,  but not by wifi over deco.
