starlink and google services issue
starlink and google services issue
I got these a while ago. I connect directly from Starlink to the unit and I'm using it as a router overall it works really great however I randomly very frequently have issues connecting to Google services. We use Google for work so I need to connect to Google Calendar Google email, etc. etc. and quite often. I can only do that if I use a VPN both Google installing analyzed and both feel that this is a router problem. I did a quick search online and it seems there are a lot of people reporting this issue. The number one work around people say is don't use it as a router use it as an excess point but I bought this so I can use it as a router. Is there no way to configure it so it actually works. It seems terrible

tp-link should be punished for not addressing any issues and this is not political. you can't use tp-link with starlink right now, nobody fixes it, nobody reached out for logs debug stuff etc silence is the tp link answer. this is not a cheap router and this is not how you create loyal users for sure either. i love this router but that they don't address this is really bad i had to install vpn's on so many devices. and no, putting one on the router for all will not work since many services will not allow it and then fail.

Sorry no one from the tp-link staff has reached out to you yet. I'm going to tag @Ryan on this post. While you wait for him to respond have you tried changing your DNS?
Changing your DNS server to a public DNS like Google DNS can often help if you are having trouble accessing certain websites or apps while connected to your Deco network. Here are some steps you can follow:
1. Check if the issue is related to your ISP:
• For websites: Disconnect the main Deco from your modem and connect your PC directly to the modem. Try accessing the problematic websites. If you still can't access them, the issue might be with your ISP.
• For phone apps: Disconnect the Deco and reconnect your old router to the ISP modem for comparison.
2. Make sure no VPN or network proxy is enabled on your devices, as these can interfere with connectivity.
3. Change the DNS server on your Deco:
• Open the Deco app and go to MORE > Internet Connection.
• Change the DNS server to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS).
• After updating the DNS, reconnect your device to the Deco network to ensure the new settings take effect.
4. Check for security features:
• Some Deco models have "Antivirus" or "Real-Time Protection" features that might block certain websites. Check the protection history to see if your sites are listed there.
5. Review Parental Control settings:
• Make sure content filtering or website blocking isn't preventing access to the sites or apps you want.
Changing your DNS server is a common troubleshooting step and can help resolve issues with accessing specific websites or apps. If you need detailed instructions on how to change your DNS settings, please let me know!
If none of the above steps fix the problems please do the following
First please access the Deco web UI by entering "tplinkdeco.net" in your browser. Navigate to Advanced > System > System Log, select "ALL" in the log type, and save the file to your local computer. Then follow the steps below making sure to attach the logs to the email. Also please include screenshots of all your VPN settings.

The unusual phenomenon you're encountering isn't the experience we want users to have with their Deco Mesh Systems, and I'd like to help with resolving this for you.
Recently, we received feedback from several users experiencing frequent difficulties connecting to Google services (e.g., Google Calendar, Gmail, YouTube) while using Deco Mesh Systems on the following ISP networks: Starlink, ISOMEDIA, and Fastel.
Our teams have investigated the causes of these phenomena and we've put out a new community broadcast for affected users: Resolving Limited Accessibility to Google Services on Specific ISP Networks (Starlink and Others)
