Hello,

Problem:

I recently upgraded to an Archer BE400 router. Initially it works fine with all devices, however after a day or so multiple devices will disconnect and remain disconnected, throwing an issue when attempting to reconnect to the network. Samsung Phone and Tablet will give "Couldn't get IP address", smart home devices show "Not Connected", appliances like fridge, oven, printer, and grill show wifi icon blinking as though it's not connected.

Solutions Tried:

I've tried restarting the router, restarting the modem, hard resetting the router, forgetting the network on devices, split network from easy assign to dual band, tried to adjust DHCP settings, tried assigning static IPs, and a few other things I'm forgetting. I've also updated firmware. I have not tried the MLO network as I thought another band would cause further issues.

I'm starting to wonder if this is an issue with the router itself, I do have around 20 devices probably but the connection is only showing 4.

Happens to some devices. Need to go to the devive settings and delete (forget) the network and then reset up the network. Happens even if the ssid and password is the same. It is part of the security features of the device.

@ArcherC8 first thing I tried, several times. I've returned it as it seems this isn't an uncommon issue with TP Link. Thanks.

The wifi security will prevent some devices from connecting if it is set higher than the previous router.  But if connected to the new router and worked previously, that would not be the issue.

Some router have screw in antennas that can come loose.

Have seen strange issues with routers if the power adapter that came with the router is not used. So easy to use the previous router power adapter. Plugs are the same but the amps are different. Also when high loads are placed on the  USB ports such as disk drives.

Things to check for your next router.
