Model: Archer AXE75
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.1 Build 20251202 rel.60030(5553)

After this night (1/6/2026) auto update to 1.5.1 (from 1.4.1) Wifi on 6GHz is completely unusable. 5GHZ is also lagging. Neither my MacBook pro M3, Samsung S10, Ipad Air 6 nor One plus 15R can get a stable connection faster than ~ 80mbps. With the 1.4.1 Firmware it was running perfect.

My Access Point - also an AXE75 -which did not auto update is still running perfect with 1.4.1.

Since the 1.5.1 is not listen on TP-links firmware website I strongly suggest you disable auto update until they fix it.

I'll try later to downgrade firmware if possible.

@Gothge I just wanted to add, it seems mine was auto updated as well which has cause me problems. Unfortunately it seems they don't allow you to downgrade the firmware version so there is nothing I can do about it. Quite unfortunate.

@Gothge I would try a factory reset and recreate your network settings.  Usually helps when there is a new firmware.

Hi @jdawn ,

Welcome to our community.

Would you mind providing more details about the router after the firmware update? Such as speed drops, unstable connections, or latency. Relevant test screenshots and client information would be helpful.

Similarly, you can send your details to forumsupport.usa@tp-link.com :

Hello @Gothge ,

Thanks for contacting our community.

Which WiFi band on your router does the speed test result (80Mbps) refer to?

Could you provide screenshots of the latency and speed reduction?

For further analysis, we recommend sending an email to forumsupport.usa@tp-link.com  with the following information:

@Joseph-TP My AXE75 is also very slow using wifi since the January 5 update. I was getting 950Mbps wirelessly using 6E on our Gig fiber before the upgrade and now it is around 50Mbps down and up with very high latency. What can be done to resolve this issue?

@Joseph-TP In my situation it seems to only affect the 6GHz frequency, if I connect to the 5Ghz SSID I see 650Mbps x 450Mbps.

Re:Wifi connectifity issued after autoupdate
Yesterday

  @Joseph-TP

Downgrade to 1.4.1. was not possible.

After a factory reset only the 6 Ghz band is involved:

only channel 37 (PSC) works at 80 ghz normaly.

160 Ghz channel causes disconnect on some devives (work well on 5ghz)

80 ghz channels work with max ~200mbs

The only device wich connects sometimes @160ghz is a Samsung Tab S10+. Ipad air 6, Mac book m3 and Oneplus 15r won't work. They connect but there is no data transfer.

Transfer speed changes randomly

None of those effects appear on 2.4/5 Ghz.

Also all channels are clear, the next biuldings are half a mile away and wifi-analyzer shows no other ssids, no military installations within miles.

Re:Wifi connectifity issued after autoupdate

I've been having the same issue when playing PCVR. Mid game the the latency shoots up to >300ms, and the only solution seems to be changing the channel to auto, save, then change back to the selected channel and save again, although this is not a permanent solution since minutes later the issue comes back. Apparently, GXE75 users had the same issue, and a beta firmware was released to fix it. Could we expect a similar fix for the AXE75 soon? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/854066

@Isacucho I'm having the exact same issue! My latency shoots up to 300-400ms, and nothing I do seems to fix it. I hope we get a solution soon.
