@Joseph-TP This is what you were asking for as taken directly from the router web page itself.

Hello @ninja660 ,

It seems likely that your network isn't successfully connecting to the cloud, preventing it from automatically detecting the new firmware. This is the case with both your Archer BE9300 and the new router.

You could try changing the router's DNS to: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

@WKMAN I don't have v2.6 only the 1.6 - strangely too, since I have moved to another brand router it hasn't picked up that there was a new firmware update for it either.= but it was manually installed and that router is happy again.

It's very disappointing that TP-Link abandons their products and users so quickly. I also have the V1 hardware and it's shameful that it's not had a firmware update in over a year. I should have learned my lesson because they quickly stopped providing updates to the first router I bought from them approx 15 years ago, but it seemed maybe TPLink was now a different company and providing newer, more up-to-date equipment. I thought they might support it better but I was dumb to think so. I have the BE 9300 and the AX-3000 AP. I was happy with the devices originally but the fact that hardware that can and should last more than a decade has been abandoned after only a couple years means I won't recommend them or give them any of my money again.

@WKMAN This firmware does nothing for the v1.6 roouter - as far as I know the 2 are not interchangeable - even when I chatted w/ Tech Support many months ago, the 2 are very similar but you can't load the firmware from one to the other (one of the major major firmware ethics I learned when I had a Linksys and tried loading one of the freeware firmwares) for the WWRT router platforms.  I don't need a $200 brick.

@WKMAN This is what I have been squawking about, it's been over a year almost since TP-Link has updated the firmware on this router.  I bought the Netgear RS200 and they just put out a firmware update for it.  I have been asking TP-Link for a upgrade on the firmware but it fell on deaf ears.  After the FCC has now said that we can't get foreign built routers any more, I wonder if I should disect this to see what makes it tick just for the heck of it because if TP-Link isn't going to release any more firmware updates, what good is it other than a boat anchor (Well couldn't use that because of the metals inside) so, I guess will resort to using it as a window prop, a door stop or a bird perch.

Hello @OG-TimG ,

Thanks for contacting our community.

BE9300 and the AX3000 are likely the wireless specifications of your two routers, not their exact model numbers.

Please check the specific model number, firmware, and hardware version of your routers. You can refer to the following links:

How to find the model number of your TP-Link device

How to find the hardware version on a TP-Link device

How to find the hardware and firmware version of my TP-Link device

For firmware updates, please ensure that the "Auto Update" button is enabled and that the router's network can connect to the cloud server.

Additionally, we strongly recommend that you contact local support directly. This may allow them to provide you with a firmware version compatible with your region more quickly.
