BE550 firmware 1.2.2 fail
Warning — the new firmware may break your internet access.
Saw there was a new update in the web UI — 1.2.2 Build 20251209 rel.57736. Tried it twice, both times it broke my internet access. Seemed to break SSL connections in general, so almost nothing would connect. Had to revert to the 1.2.1 firmware available on the support page to fix. Strangely, the 1.2.2 update isn't listed on that page at all.
Running on gig fiber directly connected to the ONT, with an RE635BE extender using ethernet backhaul, with EasyMesh.

Still curious about this. The update still shows up in the firmware update tab, is not listed on the downloads page. Wondering if there's a fix coming for this version.

Hello @fastasleep ,
Welcome to our community.
May I know your Internet service provider? What is your network connection type? For example, Dynamic IP+VLAN ID.
Have you checked whether the disconnection occurs on the wired or wireless connection?
We recommend sending an email to forumsupport.usa@tp-link.com with the following information:

@Joseph-TP hi, there —
I've got gig fiber via CenturyLink in Seattle, BE550 is hooked directly to the ONT, EasyMesh with a RE653BE extender via ethernet backhaul. Dynamic IP with VLAN 201.
It definitely affected wireless connections, but I think wired devices also had some issues. The main thing seemed to be SSL connections failing, so like all sorts of connections would fail — browsing, mail, etc. Some stuff would randomly work. Tried it a couple times thinking the first firmware update failed somehow, but same thing the second time.
Sorry, I don't have time to install it again just to break my internet again and generate reports. :)
thanks regardless.

Hello @fastasleep ,
Thanks for getting back to us.
This anomaly appears to be strongly linked to the 1.2.2 update. I've noticed that version 1.2.3 has already been released in some regions. We recommend contacting local support to obtain the new firmware.

@Joseph-TP - hi,
I mean, yeah — "strongly linked" in that I don't have any problems of this sort with 1.2.1, and the 1.2.2 errors — which were fatal — were resolved by simply manually downgraidng to the 1.2.1 firmware, twice.
I have no impetus to rush to upgrade to 1.2.3 unless it offers some benefits I don't currently have, and most importantly, doesn't brick my network. :)
thanks for following up, either way. :)
