Hey Everyone,

We have another round of firmware for our Deco X50 and Deco X55―this time for hardware v1.0 and v1.6. This new pre-release firmware brings significant enhancements for system stability and accuracy of Client Identification in the Deco App.

 

Your testing and feedback for this beta firmware may help accelerate its official release!

 

Applies to:

Deco X50(EU/US/JP/CA)/ Deco X55(EU/US/CA)_V1.0/V1.6

 

Firmware Medications:

  • Optimized Client Identification.
  • Improved 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Stability.
  • Improved IPv6 Firewall Functionality.
  • Improved System Stability and Reliability.

Note:

  • Please ensure your Deco app is fully up-to-date.
  • This firmware cannot be reverted directly to the previous 1.8.0 version. 
  • There will be an official firmware release in the future. If you are not comfortable using beta firmware, please wait for the official release or contact our support teams for assistance.
  • Pre-release and Beta firmware should be used at your own discretion. We cannot guarantee the functionality of features or technical support for Pre-Release or Beta Firmware.

In this case, it would not work for v1.2.

 

For reference:

 

Vx.0 = Vx.6/Vx.8/Vx.9 (e.g., V1.0 = V1.6/V1.8/V1.9)

Vx.x0 = Vx.x6/Vx.x8/Vx.x9 (e.g., V1.20 = V1.26/V1.28/V1.29)

Vx.30 = Vx.32/Vx.33 (e.g., V3.30 = V3.32/V3.33)

If you are experiencing any issues with this beta patch, please follow the instructions below.

 

First please access the Deco web UI by entering "tplinkdeco.net" in your browser. Navigate to Advanced > System > System Log, select "ALL" in the log type, and save the file to your local computer. Then follow the steps below making sure to attach the logs to the email.

 

Send an email to forumsupport.usa@tp-link.com with the following information:

 

Subject: [Forum Escalation][ID 861638] Deco X50/X55 V1/V1.6 Beta Firmware 1.10.0 Brings Enhanced Network Stability & Client Identification

Forum Nickname: [User Provided]

  @Ryan , when I try to install beta, the 'operation successful' message is shown, but no upgrade is done at X50 v1.0. What could be the root, tried all know steps mention in blog(s), like switch off all other x50 devices, reboot... what could be the reason?

Are you getting any error messages at all? When you try to update the firmware using the web Ui does it say its rebooting the deco(s)? Also can you follow the directions below 

 

1. Go to http://tplinkdeco.net/ and sign in - use the same password you use to log into the deco app

2. Once your logged in click on Advanced

3, Click on System from the menu on the left 

4, Now click on Firmware Upgrade

5, Scroll down to the "Online Upgrade" section and take a screenshot and reply back to this post with it

Interesting. Do me a favor please watch this video and let me know how far along your getting in the process. At the end of the video you will see a bar that says upgrading. The video doesn't show this part but once the upgrading bar gets to 100& that's when the reboot happens
