IP Modem Delivers 325 Mb but, drops to 95 when connected thru router
Internet speed was upgraded from 100 Mb to 300 Mb. If I connect directly to the modem I get a speed of 325 Mb. When I connect the modem to the router and connect my computer to the router I only get 95 Mb. How can I fix this?

Good to here it is resolved. I suspect the cold solder joints may have created a "dirty" electrical connection that may have created an EMI leak thus causing enough interference to degrade your connection speed. Bad solder joints or dirty connections can act like little antennas particularly on high speed data buses. Your experiance is definitely one to file away for approaching similar head scratchers in the future.

I would go into your router settings and either disable the QoS settings, or make sure that the settings are correct. Users have recently been reporting that setting the QoS over the speed that you expect to receive from your ISP will allow the router to make better use of the entire bandwidth. If this works for you, let us know as it could provide a great clue into what part of the QoS service is limiting the speeds.
When you run a speed test on another device, are the speeds more representative of the expected speeds? If so, you may have to adjust some settings on your computer to connect using the full speed.

Thank you for the suggestion. On going to Advanced/QoS/Settings I found QoS was not enabled. Attempting to enable I received a notice that QoS and NAT Boost could not both be enabled. So, I disabled NAT Boost, rebooted, and enabled QoS. I set the Upload & Download Bandwidths to their maximum value (1000), and saved. Ran a speedtest.net test and received the same results (92Mb). Maybe slightly faster but still no where near the 325Mb when run directly from the modem.
From the prior description, did I preform your suggestion properly? And, should I leave it this way or set back to the way I found it.
P.S. I don't think I mention previously but my router is a TP-Link AC1900, Archer-C9.

When you run the test through your router, are you connecting your computer via WiFi or Ehternet? If via Ehternet, is the cable you are using the same cable when connecting directly to the modem?
Are your network adapter drivers up to date on your computer? Check to see what speed your computer is negotiating with router when connected to it via Ethernet. It sounds like it may only be negotiating a 100M connection thus the slower speed. Try changing cables if that is the case verifying is is a Cat5e or Cat6 cable.

On the ADVANCED page of the router GUI, go to System Tools, System Parameters, and at the bottom of the page, Duplex, make sure it is set to 1000Mbps Full Duplex. That is the required setting.

Hardwired and switched from one to the other.

Not sure how to do this, please advise.on process.

I would honestly try and replace the ethernet cable as this would cause the internet to go our when forcing the setting, either that or double-check to make sure that your modem supports the higher throughput and duplex setting.

Have you checked if the drivers are up to date ofr your computers network adapters? Do you experience this with other devices?
