Model: TL-PA9020P KIT
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 3.2.4_902104_190506_901

I have been using a TL-PA7017P-KIT (AV1000) for a couple of years and had no issue reaching well over 600Mb/s.  I recently upgraded to a TL-PA9020P-KIT (AV2000) and have been unable to achieve anything greated than approx 180Mb/s.

The devices were replaced in the same outlet with the same equipment.  Nothing was changed except for unplugging them and plugging in the new ones.  I have been unable to remedy the speed issues.

I CAN HOWEVER replace the new devices with the original and they work just as good as before.

I only upgraded for the speed increase and the extra network port.

I have read every post I can find relating to these adapters and/or speed/throughput issues and have yet to see a solution.

How can this be remedied?

  @Dev-Null

Thank you for the feedback, can you share the photos of powerline rate in tpPLC Utility of the PA9020P and PA7010P when they work sperately.

May I know, did you test the kit separately. e.g unplug the TL-PA7017P kit and plug in the new kit

You could refer to FAQ below to remove the factors that could affect the powerline rate as guide below

What can I do if my powerline rate is very low?

Try to plug the main/ extender in a different wall outlet and see if that makes any difference

You could also  put TL-PA9020P into the same room, or same power board and check what's the powerline rate at that time.

At the same time,   May I know the network topology including the model of modem & router, do you use a VDSL modem?
