I don't know what happens with my Archer C50, when I upload large files to the network (such as a video to facebook or youtube), when I try to upload a large file the internet immediately drops, just to rule out, I have connected directly to my ISP's modem , and there is not this fault, but with the archer C50, the internet is gone. I don't know if it's something in the configuration or if it's actually for warranty, what do you recommend? Thanks for your help

  @Gugle9,

I would make sure that the hardware that you have is compatible with the connection you receive from your ISP. If the issue is only in regards to when you potentially max your upload speed, I think there may be an incompatibility somewhere along the line.

When the disconnect happens, what is the status of the LED lights on the router? What appears in the System Logs for the router when the internet drops?

  @Riley_S  thanks for your contribution... I haven't seen the system log, but I deleted it for a better diagnosis of the fault. the router leds all remain ok, but at the time of the failure the connection led turns RED, and when the file upload is canceled it returns to green.

As for compatibility, my isp installed a MITRASTAR DSL-2401HN-TC modem with a production date of 03-10-2022, I don't know if it's compatible or not, the fact is that I bought my Archer C50 two weeks ago, and i had this problem.

-------

My Archer C50:

Versión del Firmware: 1.4.6 Build 210112 Rel.56401n(4553)

Versión del Hardware: Archer C50 6.0

-----

========

Ping:64 Bytes

Finding host www.google.com by DNS server (2 of 2).

Ping request could not find host www.google.com.

Please check the name and try again.

I think it's something with the Archer C50 because if I connect directly to my isp's modem, the fault doesn't appear.

I appreciate what you can help me

  @Gugle9,

A couple of Things:

Who is your ISP and what is your plan?

Would it be possible for you to download a copy of your system logs when the issue occurs? If none of the following fixes the issue, you will want to get in direct contact with our support team, who they will ask for a copy of these logs and your ISP/Plan.

Since it looks like the router is having trouble resolving names from the DNS server, You could try to change the DNS settings to use a more generic DNS server such as Google's 8.8.8.8, and see if this will allow the connection.

I would make sure that the router is not trying to send more data than your plan can handle, as this could cause the router to lose connection

Try disabling any parental control settings, or firewall settings that may be affecting the connection.

  @Riley_S

Thanks.. I understand what you are saying.. But how can I make the router not send more data than my plan can handle?

My ISP in Colombia is Movistar, and the plan is a very small one of 10MB download and 1M upload

Archer C50 has a Firewall, should I disable it?

parental control if I have it turned off... but the firewall is active...

If you like, I leave some screenshots of the configuration

  @Gugle9,

With that small of a plan, it is definitely recommended to turn on the QoS settings. QoS serves to create streamlined connections whenever a high-bandwidth application is started. When you are doing your file uploads, can you see the total bandwidth being used at one time? I would recommend trying to limit the upload rate on the client to just below what your maximum is, if this prevents the disconnect from happening, we know that it is related to the data speed cap.

Can you check your router logs to see if there are any things reported as causing the issue in the first place?

@Gugle9

Are there DoS Protection settings on the C50? As HelpMee2 reported, if Dos Protection is enabled on his C60, it will block internet access when it detects some unusual traffic.

something curious is that it notifies me that the cable was disconnected, but it has not been like that, and the RJ45 are not new, but they are not in bad condition either, everything is ok.

There is something I wanted to ask, what do you recommend? Speed 10 Full Duplex or 100 Half duplex or full duplex, I read this on YOUTUBE and I don't know whether to try it... Is there something associated with my failure?

Thanks again

  @Gugle9,

I would recommend changing out the Ethernet Cable to make sure that it is not the source of the issue.

The 10Full Duplex will Max out your system at 10MBps, however, the Half Duplex will split it in half for upload and download, essentially bringing it to 50mbps.

If you have the option for 100 Full Duplex that is what your router is supposed to try and auto-negotiate to for the best connection
