Model: Deco XE5300
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20221209 Rel. 57967

Since 6/3/23 all three decos go solid red and offline.  I can resolve by unplugging and restarting but the next day will go offline again.  My ISP is solid.  Zero issues for months as this was purchased from Costco and less than a year.  Coincidentally I noticed a new firmware was released on 6/1/23 which my units never received (US).  Very frustrated that I have this situation and unfortunately traveling now and having to have someone unplug and plug back in to get internet for 12 hours.  The setup is ISP-modem-deco main-switch-satellites.

  @Hogan123

Hi, welcome to the community.

I see there was a similar case but the model here is Deco XE75 V2 with the 1.1.0 firmware. Since XE5300 is quite like XE75 and it also got a new firmware 1.1.0 recently. So I was wondering whether you also updated the firmware to 1.1.0.

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/611214

Could you please help me check the following details as well:

  • May I know who is your internet service provider?
  • When the main Deco XE5300 turned red, could you please check on the Deco APP>more>internet connection>IPV4 to see whether there is still a valid internet IP address?
  • Will only unplugging the internet cable from the modem and plugging it back in be able to get Deco back to green?

Here are some suggestions for your reference:

1. Clone the MAC address of the old WIFI router to the main Deco XE75.

How to Configure MAC Clone on Deco

2. Change the WAN DNS to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4

How to change DNS server settings on my Deco

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

here are my answers

1.) Spectrum

2.) yes, had to quickly push the more button before the offline screen came up on app.  Appears to be a valid IP address

3.). That is correct.  I can only unplug my deco to get it back online.  It is really debilitating for our network.   what can be done?

Also to note the app states firmware version 1.0.1

  @Hogan123 Hi, Thanks for your time and patience. I noticed the Deco XE75 had been updated to 1.2.1. Were you still having the same issue on the 1.2.1 firmware?
If yes, could you please send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com with the following details:

1. Can I have a screenshot of the IPV4 settings when XE75 was offline?

2. How often would the disconnection repeat within one day?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.
