Model: Deco
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 build 20230522 rel 68968

I just got a 3 pack of the AX3000  Mesh Network.    All is working well but am just wondering about the possibility of using one 'unleashed' -- meaning using it without being wired to ethernet.  Can one of them work as just a repeater to get a little more coverage out away from the house (in range of another but not wired to ethernet)?

Hey  @Mrbigf00t,

This is actually the intended use of Decos, allowing flexible backhauls via both wired or wireless connections between nodes. The performance will be less when using a wireless connection as compared to what you can achieve while the node has a wired connection, but will do exactly as you mention.

Fortunately, I believe Decos using a wireless backhaul do not suffer the same fate as a Range Extender, as it does still work to extend your mesh network, rather than simply repeating the signal it receives.

Lastly, if you are looking to extend your network outside, you may consider looking at the Deco X50-Outdoor which can be powered via PoE and placed outdoors.
