Speed dip on new modem.

Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.7.3

Have Cox Internet. They recently just upped our speed from 300 to 500. We had a old. Docsis modem so bought a new 3.1 surfboard.

Coax to modem to deco to switch to 2 satellite via cat 6 backhaul.

Was getting wired and wireless speed from all satellites at 240 to 260. As from deco app speed test, ookla wired and wireless speed tests on multiple devices /pc.

Called cox turned on new modem ran deco app speed test. Saw 496 to 590.

But wired and wireless on all devices won't pass 100. Admittedly upload speeds went from 20 to 50.

Nothing changed minus modem.

I've rebooted deco and devices. b2f2625a3e864d0f9ef3ec4741493256

Hi @Wonkydemateo,

Welcome to the community!

Were any Ethernet cables moved around or swapped when installing the new modem?

Have you tried double-checking all Ethernet connections between the modem and Deco(s) to ensure there's no sign of physical damage to the cables?

If you haven't already done so, it might be worth swapping out the Ethernet cable between the modem and the main Deco to see if it is defective or damaged.

Also might be a good time to check the Ethernet cable(s) connecting the Deco to the switch, and form the switch to your client devices.

All of the cables are fine, they just replaced around Christmas last year when they did the last speed increase because i was worried about this. Literally the only thing was changed was the modem itself. And after the firmware/reboot it hit full speed...
