Model: Archer AXE5400
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20240607 rel.74966(5553)

We've just been upgraded from 300mb to 400mb from Spectrum. Unfortunately I'm still capped at 300mb down hardwired.

Spectrum has come out and confirmed that it's 500mb down from the modem, so it has to be the router. I've checked on 2 different PCs running different CAT6 cables to each and am hitting around 280mb on each. I've done a reboot, a hard reboot disconnecting from power for a few minutes, and confirmed the firmware is the latest version on the router.

Next steps to get the speed up?

  @EmmaPeel007

Anytime you you need to check the ISP speed, connect your PC direct to the modem and check the speed. So do that first.

Are you using a VPN as that slows things down?

Check your firewall settings.

Check you QoS settings.

Are you in Mesh or AP mode?

Are you doing any cloud backups?

In Advance / Network / Internet, what is the speed setting?

What are your wifi speeds?

Solved - it was the QOS. I had the settings throttled at the old speed.

A bit frustrating that those settings can only be accessed in the Tether app and not via the router interface. Took long chat with TP Link support to surface this.
