Model: Archer BE900
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi,
Love the new BE900 performance, but even in our flat home, there are 2 rooms at the opposite corner with 'almost 99% deadspot' and I'm trying to figureout how to extend rang.

Ideally using Mesh and not extender... or maybe Extender is the right way (just didn't want a separate network name for it)

I was looking to add a Deco, but found out one of them has to be wired to the router and another as AP... which kind of defeats the purpose of buying the router... Maybe I should have just bought the Deco instead of the router.

Is there anyway to just use a single AP and to setup a mesh? Or should I not get the Deco and just buy another BE900 and set that up as a AP?

Thanks for helping this confused soul :)

  @SkiDownFast  I am using this: RE655BE | BE11000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender | TP-Link

with my BE800, have a seamless MESH through out the house.  Simple to set up, just did it with the WPS button so I didn't have to configure anything.  Set the BE900 as a EasyMesh in the settings, press the buttons  and it will send everything over to the extender.

  @DVair thanks . Expensive but worked like a charm... strange I always thought extenders create a separate SSID!

another question ... what's a better setup. Router like Be900 in easy mesh mode with the extender, or just a straight up Deco mesh ?

  @SkiDownFast Never used a Deco, so not sure.  I just know that if you use Decos, it is its own type of mesh (DecoMesh) which only works with other Decos.

Thats why a Mesh setup is nice, one SSID for the whole network, no having to switch to a different one when moving around the house.
