Ever since "upgrading" the firmware to 2.2.1 the router has become very unstable, dropping WiFi and/or Internet connections somewhat randomly. When it occurs, all devices lose connection. A power cycle recovers normal operation for a random amount of time, sometimes an hour or 8 hours or 24 hours. The release notes for this version indicate that downgrading is not supported. Are there other beta versions I might try? I work in the software industry on embedded network devices, so I'm quite familiar and comfortable with running beta versions. I work from home, and this issue is impacting my work and needs to be fixed ASAP.

 

P.S. The HW version indicated on the label is specifically 1.6, but the drop-down doesn't include that option.

Welcome to our community.

 

Besides updating the firmware, have you changed any other settings? Or added any devices to the network?

 

For an unstable connection, please try the suggestions below:

1) Connect a PC directly to your modem to verify if your ISP's Internet is stable.

2) Ensure the Ethernet cable connecting your modem to the Router is properly connected, and replace old wires with new ones.

3) Please change the DNS Server of the Router, log in to the web management interface of the Router, go to Advanced > Network > Internet > Advanced Settings, and change the two DNS Servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4,  How to Change the DNS servers on the wireless router and DSL modem router (New UI)?
