Another thing. Be sure to use good Ethernet cables. We have had a poster report that a new one that came with the router was bad.

Some things to try. Be sure you are using the power adapter that came with the router. Disconnect any USB devices from the router, and all other devices except one PC. Be sure the modem is connected...

That sounds like something I would do. I do not know of or can think of a way to get into the router if it is not in the approved access list. It is as bad as forgetting the user ID and password....
