Switch device to send WiFi commands
I have been using smart home devices since the 1980's, the X10 devices. I still have a number of them and they are still being sold. I like the new WiFi devices from tp-link, but they are missing one piece that I need before I can give up the X10 system. The X10 system has controllers that send commands, tp-link depends on your cell phone or Alexa to send commands. I don't want to always have to pull out my phone. The X10 system has a small table top box that you can just push a button to turn on a light, see - https://www.x10.com/collections/x10-plug-in-controllers/products/mc10a . The have controllers that can be mounted in a electrical box, see - https://www.x10.com/collections/in-wall-keypads/products/xp4a-w-ns . I currently have 8 of the table top controllers and 4 of the in-wall-keypads.
If I could replace these controllers at a reasonable price I would be able to replace all of my X10 system. At this point I have replaced installed 9 tp-link wall switches and 4 tp-link plugs. I could do quite a bit more if I had the controllers.
