KS230 3 Way Dimmer Secondary Switch not working
Just got the new KS230 3 Way Dimmers. I purchased 2 sets first set the secondary switch will not work. Second set the main switch will not connect to the app. No TPlink appears. Spent the whole day trying different configurations to no sucess. I have other TP Link / Kasa switches throughout with no issues.
Has anyone had these issues.

Here is the wiring, follow the colours (got labels for traveller 1 and 2 swapped).
Measurements with my multimeter; switched off:
- One of the travellers was ~1.5V (presumably this to feed the satellite enough low-voltage power for it light up and respond to pushes?)
- The other was 0V
Switched on:
- Both travellers read 120V
These voltages are identical on the master and satellite sides
I'd still like to know why the Master is showing the 5th brightness dot as being illuminated, this must be some kind of diagnostic thing... It would be lovely if TPLink support would tell me what it means.
- Other thing I can try is to swap-in a HS210 3-way switch at the master to see if that provides enough power to light up the satellite or I can swap it for the satellite to see if master can power it + talk to it... Let me know if that would tell me anything.

Hello @Deftdawg Thank you for providing the photo of wiring and case details.
It's quite uncommon if the Master Brightness level 5th Led is always on.
The traveler wiring currently looks good to me, but I'm not sure about the Load wire (usually connected to a different color of screw on old switch) on satellite KS230.
I would like to escalate your case through email and our engineer will help look into that further, please check your inbox.

@Solla-topee same thing here, secondary switch doesn't function at all, it has the ring on it but, does nothing.. The primary switch works as expected. I'm a master electrician with over 30 years of experience.. It is wired per the instructions but yet fails to operate. The firmware was up to date at startup. It is the ks230 kit ver:1.8

Same issue here. Checked the wiring multiple times and it is good, main switch works great and connects to wifi, satellite switch has nightlight on but is non-functional.
I have now spent hours on this and unfortunately am finding 0 solutions

@Solla-topee issue what looks like for me starts when firmware update happen🤷♂️, I was able to power on /off the lights and dimmer was working and now can't do anything 🤦♂️, I can see the led light however I can only see one (1) led for the dimmer and when I press to make it brighter it moves from left to right ( with only one (1) led not as before or any other when it was showing full set of led's ... I can connect with the app and see it but it does absolutely nothing with the lights anymore 🤷♂️ , hardware problem🤷♂️

Hello @cOffEEtArIaN
Can you help confirm some details here to locate the issue:
1. Could you manually control light using main & satellite KS230?
2. Could you use Tapo APP control light using main & satellite KS230?
3. Does the Led status look usual on main and Satellite KS230? the Brightness Led/ Ring/ WiFi led.
4. Can you control light manually & on APP properly before the firmware update? How long the KS230 has been working fine before?
If KS230 could still control light manually, try a factory reset on switch by pressing the 'reset' button (button on left button) on main KS230 for 10secs, check if switch broadcast 'TP-Link_Smart_Switch_XX' SSID or if WiFi led flashes amber and green. If so, try to set up switch in Kasa app again. If set up failed in certain step, try to troubleshoot as this FAQ: What should I do if I fail to configure the Kasa device?
Thank you

Exactly the same problem as other mentioned. The main switch works, however satellite one is in turned off mode (circle light is on) and turning it on/off does nothing and the same for dimmer buttons.

Hello@Orest
May I know did you try some tips in #4 of this thread to check the wiring of KS230Kit?
I will also create a support email for your case to confirm some case details like 1) wiring of KS230 main & satellite 2) wiring of old switch to help locate the issue, please check your inbox later.

Main Switch
remote switch
main switch is fully functional. Remote switch no ring, power button makes the light brighter, brighter button dims and dimmer button does nothing.
I checked the wiring several times. I swapped out the remote switch for another. Same thing.

Hello @Nickadema
Thank you for the photos, please make sure Main KS230 switch should on the Line side, not Load side * Line wire is energized when tested with a voltage tester
I will create a support email TKID220119028 to follow up, can I know the wattage of bulb that connected to the switch as well, do you mean you replace the satellite switch using a different Satellite KS230, you may reply later in the email directly. Thank you.
