Hi,

this is my first venture into my own VPN, and I set up the VPN Server for OpenVPN, created a certificate and exported the config file.
Got this transferred to my pixel 5 android, installed the OpenVPN app and imported the config file.

The connection attempt from the phone times out without any indications (at least to me) what might have gone wrong. I checked the port 1194 on my gezi.tplinkdns.com - and it is open.
I have the vpn subnet set to the default 10.8.0.0, and I actually don't understand what that is for. I am running my NAT with 192.168.0.0 - should I use that for the vpn subnet? Does that have something to do with routing vs bridging?
So many things I don't quite understand yet!
What can I do to troubleshoot - are there any logs on the BE3600 that might give me a clue?
Thank you,

Gunter

Hello @gunterzielke ,

Welcome to our community.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

ISP modem—BE3600 / BE230)))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

Please refer to the troubleshooting tips here: How do I troubleshoot if the OpenVPN is not connecting?

For more suggestions, you can also refer to VPN Server Is Not Working Properly on TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers.

If it doesn't help, please take screenshots of the VPN settings and send them here.
