I use my Tapo D225 doorbell in battery mode and see it detects events fine. I am using local storage on a microSD card. However the start of the recording usually is few seconds too late, I would like the camera to capture about 3-4 seconds at least before the event so I have more time to view the event before they get out of frame. Is there a way to tell the app or camera to store a few more seconds of footage earlier in the detected event?

If I increase my detection zone it'll go into the street and tag passing cars and I would get more false positives. But I'm open to ideas and suggestions, thank you.

Hi,
To conserve power, battery-powered cameras typically remain in a low-power sleep state when no event is detected. They begin recording only after being awakened by an event, thus they cannot capture the videos before being awakened, as the camera is in sleep state at that time.

The Tapo D225 supports hardwiring charging; in this situation, it can gain up to 4 extra seconds of video before the event is detected.

Best Regards
