Generally 2.4 will give you more distance and 5.0 will give you better speed. Distance will slow speed. You are only as fast as the slowest link which can also be the device.

@11bravoxray one thing to check is the WIFI speed of the device as it may be the limiting factor.

@djnoah I suspect you have Smart Connect turned on. Turn it off. It is in your Advance/Wireless/Wireless settings.

@echo_808 try deleting (forget) the network on the device then reset it up. Common issue when setting up router especially if you use the same SSID and on Apple.
