Router orange light no internet connection

My Archer ax23v router can't get internet signal from modem (orange light). I have two of these - both can connect with no problems to NTT modem at office. But both cannot connect to NTT modem at home

convert router into extender ?

I have an old Archer C7 AC1750 Would it be possible to convert it into a wifi extender? I have a 3 outdoor security cameras and I would like to connect them to the wifi extender.

what lan/wan connection to choose 1Gbps or 2.5Gps

There are two lan/wan connections on the back of this router. Supposedly I have a 5gig service from my ISP, but that is wan speed. The jack says lan/wan. What difference in reality does each connector
