Model: Tapo C500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1

Hi all,

Recently, one of my three Tapo C500 cameras received an OTA update to firmware version 1.3.1.

Since then, the ONVIF PTZ functionality has stopped working on my NVR.

The other two cameras, which did not receive this update, are working fine on firmware version 1.1.4.

Could you please look into restoring this functionality, or let me know if a fix is on the way?

I look forward to your response and thank you in advance for your help!

Hi,
What app have you installed to stream the camera Tapo C500 via Onvif protocol?
Can you try to stream the camera with another app, such as iSpy or VLC, and check if the problem remains?
Best Regards

  @Solla-topee

Hi,

On my side, I am currently using XMeye CMS for Windows to control the NVR.

The image is streaming okay, just the pan/tilt that is not working.

It would be good to have the issue resolved for CMS, so that I don't need to switch to different control software.

Hello there  @Solla-topee and @Mrs_S

I'm using Frigate as my NVR, it's been working fine with the cameras in previous firmware versions latest one working fine was 1.1.4,

The only other way I was able to check for PTZ capabilites not working with firmware 1.3.1 was with Python library ONVIFCamera please see below for details,

Could you let us know if a fix is coming to restore the functionality?

Thanks for the support, Looking forward for your response!
