Hello Tapo Team,

I am using the TP-Link Tapo C220 camera and I am facing two serious issues.

1️⃣ Human Detection Problem

On 1:42:25 AM at night, my mother passed in front of the camera. The area had full light and visibility was very clear, but the camera did not detect any human and no alarm was triggered.

After a few minutes when she returned On 1:44:16 AM at night, the camera suddenly detected her and triggered the alarm.

This is concerning because if a thief passes during that time, the camera may not detect the person at all. I am attaching a video proof of this incident.

I also tried adjusting the Human Detection sensitivity to different levels (both higher and lower) to test if it improves detection, but it did not make any difference. After testing, I set the sensitivity back to the default value of 6.

2️⃣ Preset / View Point Accuracy Issue

Another problem is with the preset view positions.

For example:

  • I saved a preset view for my gate.

  • Later when I move the camera somewhere else and tap the preset to return to the saved position, the camera does not go exactly to the same spot.

  • Sometimes it stops slightly left or right of the saved position.

  • Occasionally it goes correctly, but most of the time it is slightly off.

Because of this I have to delete the preset and create it again.

Please let me know:

  • Is this a firmware issue?

  • Is there a way to improve preset position accuracy?

Hi,
For the detection issue, please check if the following instructions help.
What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?

For the preset viewpoint offset phenomenon, please remove the preset viewpoint, go to the camera's Device Settings > Pan & Tilt page, and tap Pan & Tilt Correction. After that, you can try adding a new preset viewpoint and see if the camera works fine.

If the reported phenomenon persists, we suggest contacting the local technical support team for further assistance.

Best Regards
