Good day,
Thanks a lot for your time and patience.
Sorry for the delay.
It has motion/sound detection and notification via Tapo APP with a push message, but not via email.
Such as https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2622/
Thanks a lot.

Hello, have you plugged any SD card into the Tapo C200? Considering the camera does not support cloud storage yet, we need use the SD card to record videos.
Besides, you can go to liveview page, there you can see playback; Click it and then you will see recordings.
May it help.

If at least can send a photo by email on motion detection it will be perfect but now it needs SD card and should be connected to the power to be able to watch the playback.
In case someone mentions the camera inside the home and just disconnects the power and remove the SD card then nothing will be available to watch later. That is why send an email with photo on detection can be very useful as evidence. I recommended adding this feature so it can help those who need it.

Hello, as a camera without built-in battery, it won't work until it is powered on.
For now, due to the lack of cloud storage feature, SD card is needed to get recordings; And we will forward your request to our product engineer and they will keep an eye on similar feedback and will work on it.

Always ensure you are running the latest Tapo app on your phone and ensure the camera firmware is up-to-date.
Check and ensure your SD card is detected and formatted successfully by the Tapo camera or app.
If the SD card status is good, try to enable 24 hours continuous recording and see if there are recordings.
If the continuous recording is working correctly, check and ensure you've configured the motion detection settings correctly, for example, check and verify the Activity Zone setting is correctly selected, Sensitivity is High, and you are getting the app push notifications, etc. Below is the guide which illustrates how to configure the motion detection setting:

Hello,
Currently, there are not any plans to eventually have that Email notification feature, but this will be forwarded as a feature request to our developers for consideration.
Thank you for your feedback.

@alexsp79 I've just bough 3 of these TpLink Tapo C200 cameras, only to find out there is no email alert notification???
Such a basic and critical feature for a camera!!!
So basically if anyone walks in, unplugs the camera and steals it, that's it, no recording I can access. Just a push notification.
I can't believe it.
