I have a problem with the TP LINK deco M4 on a 1gb plan connected to Virgin HUB 4

 

See tests:

  • HUB4 (Modem Mode) > Laptop (Ethernet) 900mb download speed
  • HUB4 (Modem Mode) > Deco (Bridge mode) > Laptop (Ethernet)900mb download speed
  • HUB4 (Modem Mode) > Deco (Bridge mode) > Laptop (Wifi 5ghz) 200mb download speed

 

  • HUB4 (Router mode, Wifi Off) > Laptop (Ethernet) 900mb download speed
  • HUB4 (Router mode, Wifi Off) > Deco (Bridge mode) > Laptop (Ethernet) 900mb download speed
  • HUB4 (Router mode, Wifi Off) > Deco (Bridge mode) > Laptop (Wifi 5ghz) 200mb download speed

 


On the hub 3 i was getting 350mb on a 350mb plan, so cant figure out my deco is not providing this on laptop via wifi.


The Ethernet and WiFi is ac so its capable of handling up to 900mb

These devices all received sub 300mb download speeds

  • Dell XPS
  • Samsung 20 Ultra
  • Samsung s10+ 

 

I have changed cables to cat5 and cat6 still no improvement.

 

Can anyone advise on next steps?

Hi, thank you for your time and patience.

As for the bridge mode on the Deco M4, did you mean the access point mode?

If possible, could you please test the following speed as well:

ISP—HUB4(modem mode)---Main Deco(wireless router mode)—laptop(Ethernet)

                                                                                                       )) Samsung 20 Ultra(wireless on 5ghz)

 

And how about the speed on the laptop and Samsung 20 Ultra this time?

By Bridge mode i meant in Router mode and the speeds were the same.

@TP-Link Hi I just tested again and the test works.

 

 I get full speed 900mb from tp link deco via ethernet.

 

However when I test with one main deco via WiFi I still get 200mb on all WiFi devices.

 

Any advice?
