Hello everyone,

Some customers may report their Onemesh routers are emitting a hidden network, which makes them confused and nervous as they cannot turn it off manually on the router web GUI.

The hidden wireless network is used to build up the mesh wireless network system, and it cannot be detected by the common wireless devices. You can refer to this article for more details:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/stories/detail/728

Just like the existing Deco mesh package products, the specific hidden network with high-intensity random password can guarantee the security of the network. So no worries.

However, if you still want to disable the Onemesh hidden network on the router, we here provide a beta firmware for the MR600 V1 and MR200 V4/V5, customers can install this firmware on your device, then disable the Onemesh network manually via the web GUI.

Archer MR200 V5_20211015-click here to download.

Archer MR200 V4_20210628-click here to download.

Archer MR400 V4.20_221230-click here to download.

For other models, we will add this feature in the near future. This will take some time, however, we hope you could wait patiently.

Note: We as always strongly recommend our customer upgrade their TP-Link devices to the latest official firmware, you can try the beta firmware posted by our TP-Link Admins/Officials unless the official firmware doesn't resolve the issue you experience.

Note:

1. Please check the device label to verify the country code and hardware version of your device first, and choose the correct file to download and install.

2. Be sure you have read the Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding!

@Kevin_Z , I loaded the beta firmware for MR200v5 on my EU model.  I cannot access router using web GUI. Only tether application working. Checked the router with port scan and notice ports 22,23,53,1900 opened.  No web server ports (80) or (443) active.

I have AX20 with default firmware and notice ports 22,80,443 opened.

Seems beta firmware activate MR200v5 in different operating mode disabling web servers.

Please advise how to revert with orignal firmware or enable web ports (80 or 443).

Yasin

Hi, when you tried to access the router web GUI, was there any error message? Kindly show us the screenshot, thanks.

BTW, is there a new firmware update on the Tether app for the router? Try to detect if you can get any new firmware notification on the Tether app.

@Kevin_Z   I have attached screenshot for your reference.  I do tcp network port scan and notice  http services ports (80,443) are not active, but other ports ssh(22), telnet(23), domain(53), UPnP (1900) are active.  I can reach router using ssh (22) port or telnet (23) ports , but cannot access as no username/password available.

Tether doesn't see new firmware. Only the beta version is shown as latest, attached tether output showing beta firmware as latest.

@myag Reverted to old firmware.  Removed SIM and rebooted the router to access web GUI.

Hi, I'm wondering how did you revert to the old firmware since you cannot access the web page? Which firmware are you running now?

This sounds quite weird, as we didn't hear this kind of feedback from others, we would confirm and test it again.

@Kevin_Z

I had discussed with local support and advised by them to use Ethernet port to reset and downgrade firmware.

I discovered the service comes up only for 30-40 seconds after restart and goes down again.  I tried removing SIM for recovery mode and discovered the router works fine without SIM and only with SIM the problem appears again.  I did upgrade/downgrade multiple times and beta firmware fails to keep http service active with SIM.

Do you have firmware to select BANDS manually,  I notice the router prefers FDD bands and my old Huawei select TDD bands with better download speeds.

Thanks & Regards

Yasin

What is the current firmware version of the MR200? If you want to choose the band manually, you can upgrade to this beta firmware:

@Kevin_Z

Current active firmware is MR200(EU)_V5_210120.

I will continue with current official release and wait for next update for Band selection.

@Kevin_Z

Hi,
Does this beta also include the band selection ability from the previous beta?

Thanks,
Joseph

@jmcl1

No, no BAND selection option in MR200v5.  Only Onemesh enable/disable option, that too works with  tether app only.  You can test beta firmware on browser without SIM only.
