Hi David,
Turning off mesh for specific devices didn't help, the improvement was momentary.
I'm noticing that my notebook and the WiFi printer (Samsung SCX-3405W) are particularly affected, to the point that I had to connect the printer to a PC through USB which is working as printer server.
On the notebook, when the Deco is disconnected, I open the Windows network settings of the tray and it takes a few seconds for the Deco to show up as available network.
Another person here has a MacBook and I've noticed that also this notebook is connected most of the time to the remote router, not to the Deco system.
Furthermore, my secondary cell phone quite often is not connected to the Deco base which is in the same room (main Deco), it looks for a system that is further away.
Could it be that the main Deco has a problem? Or that there is a problem because it is the main Deco?

Is there an ETA for when there might be an update to v1.2 Deco X50 to allow client connection preference to be selected? I've just upgraded from M5 to X50 and am already missing this very helpful feature.

Not on mine I'm afraid. I used to have 4 M5s but I now have 2 X50s, one of which is the main Deco, and 2 M5s. While I had the 4 M5s, I had the connection preference option, but since swapping in the 2 X50s, that option has disappeared.

I went from 3 x M5 setup to the 3 x X50 setup (currently only 2 plugged in), updated the firmware to v1.1 - performed full reboot of all devices and have the option to set connection preferences for clients. the client mush already be connected to the network and when click on a client there is an option for connection preference. when you go into here you can set the node and speed to connect with.
If you don't have the option try re-applying the firmware and also reboot all units (do full power off / on)

My X50s are hardware version 1.2 and are running on firmware version 1.0.0 Build 20220714 Rel. 55665. When I try to apply the V1_1.1.0 Build 20221102 firmware, having downloaded and unzipped the file, I get a message effectively telling me it's not applicable to my hardware version. Any suggestions?

i got them from Amazon and they arrived a couple of days ago. I really miss the connection preference feature, particularly for my Ring doorbell, which I'd like to connect to the nearest X50 and on 2.4ghz. When it's connected like that, it gets a really strong signal, but it changes its connection to other Decos or to 5ghz. I've turned off Mesh fof the doorbell but that doesn't help. Guess I'll have to wait for the v1.2 firmware update.

@RCC just shows how quick the version numbers have been updated, it will soon be the case where the v1 models stop getting updates and only the v1.2 get updates until the next hardware version is released. this is the only problem with tplink hardware.
also the other issue why you might have some issues with the x50 and ring/iot devices is the 160Hz setting on 5ghz - turn it off as can cause more problems than its worth, the deco x50 at the moment have no auto optimisation of the network band and must be done manually and from work i could determine if there is radar interference on the 5ghz 160hz it does not change channels automatically.
i think my ring doorbell links on 2.4ghz and never goes on 5ghz

I've just got x50s from Amazon & see that this update isn't available for v1.2 hardware that I've got. When will it be available for those?
