  @Kevin_Z ,

@Sunshine

AX55 (info below)

is not completely capable of easy mesh.

.. in best case ... it tries .. but reboots every ~10mins or when one try to do something with it .. like login to admin section ..  .. responds are slow, speeds are under par .. like 1% of the speed from ISP ...  satelite routers connects only via wireless ... if at all - most times they dont .. even connected via ethernet (cables are fine - worked in other setups fine .. i.e. using only AX23s as main router and satelites )

CPU is 100% all the time..

Main router is AX55 as above

Satelites are 3x tp-link ax23

from whatever reason one ax23 is missing in the screenshot above .. everything just appears and disappears as it wants .. like in circus .. terrible ...

Once in a while AX55 resets itself to its factory settings on its own ..

what to do, how to resolve this? Is there any FW update for AX55 to support EasyMesh + Ethernet backhaul ?

Thanks in advance,

Mazel

Hi, your current AX55 V1 firmware doesn't support Ethernet Backhaul yet, you could try this one for now: [Closed] Public Beta for Archer AX55 V1 Supports EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul, DoH&DoT, ECO Mode etc. (the download link is still active)

Hi, we have no information about when there will be new firmware for AX12 and AX90 to support Ethernet Backhaul.

Once there is any update, we will update this thread.

@Eightball11854 for range extenders, you could monitor this thread: RE315 Supports EasyMesh With Ethernet Backhaul

I tried EasyMesh with my AX1500 and an RE215, both with latest firmware.

Archer AX1500(EU)_V1.20_1.3.9 Build 20230728
RE215(US)_V1_1.0.23 Build 230418

I connected the RE215 via ethernet.  It was in a location with a low wifi signal.

I had nothing but problems.  I did 2 factory resets, but they didn't help.  When it would try to switch, it would lose the wifi connection, connect again, getting IP address, checking internet connection, etc.  Definately not seemless.  It took many seconds.  And then when it would finally connect, it was a really poor connection, unusable.

Both of these have support for EasyMesh.  Is Ethernet Backhaul also supported with them?  It seemed to be supported in the settings, but now I read this, so maybe that was the problem?

Hi,

Unfortunately, the RE215 does not support EasyMesh via Ethernet backhaul. As of today the RE315 is the sole range extender supporting it. https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/644776

  @woozle Good to know, thanks.  I guess that might explain the problems.  The EasyMesh status on the AX1500 did show the RE215 connected via ethernet (the RJ45 icon).

The reason I tried EasyMesh was because it was described as having Ethernet Backhaul here:

https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/3749/

I didn't see any fine print about it only being for certain models until I got to the forums and searched some more.

Hello @Kevin_Z,

Is the Archer AX50 going to be included in the easymesh and backhaul?

@Kevin_Z ,

PROBLEM: EasyMesh is working via Ethernet Backhaul, but wired connections plugged to Archer AX53 v1 (firmware 1.2.4_Build_20240206_Beta, setted as Satellite) do not receive a valid IP. Only wireless connections work and receive a valid IP, not the Ethernet wired ones.

I'm using an Archer AX73 v2 as the Main router and 2 (two) Archer AX53 v1 as Satellites. All firmware are up to date, all routers are US models.

The satellites are only working with devices connected to them via wireless, but the wired Ethernet connections plugged to the two satellites AX53 do not receive a valid IP (just a 169.254... IP type, indicating that something is wrong).

Wired connections plugged on the Main router AX73 v2 work fine. Also wired connections work fine if I use the AX53 v1 as Main router. The problem only occurs when AX53 are used as satellites in a EasyMesh environment.

Exactly the same configuration, AX73 v2, but with only one ax53 v1 - everything works fine - including cable connections to satellite ax53.
