  @David-TP

Recently i added the M4 to my network of (X60, M5), which removed the functionality of choosing "source signal" for the Decos and the "connection preference" for connected clients.

Upgrading the M4 FW to ver.1.7.0 beta build 240307 brought back the for mentioned functions. However after customizing "connection preference" settings for a connected client, and exiting the Deco android app, or after awhile of time has passed, I noticed that the "connection preference' will default back to auto for all the clients.

Hope you guys can take a look into it.

Already made a support ticket with system logs.

Cheers !

  @ARGamingPK1

Hi, Thank you very much for the message.

Your feedback here made me remember the other issue you reported on the first 1.7.0 build20240104 version:

Post 650196 and 653730

I noticed the discussion with the engineer did not go well and this issue is still pending. So I think the build20240307 version did not fix this issue either.

So I wonder whether you are still experiencing the same port issue on the 1.7.0 build20240307?

Best regards.

  @Vcaddy

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

I couldn't reproduce this issue on the sample Deco M4.

I wonder whether it was due to a mixed Mesh system.

How about the "preferred signal source" for satellite Deco M4? Will it come back to "auto" as well?

Did this issue only occur to the devices whose "Connection Preference" was set to Deco M4? Would you experience the same issue if the "Connection Preference" is Deco X60 or M5?

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Hi david, thanks for your timely response !

Regarding the satellite Deco "preferred signal source",  once a source signal has been selected, it will stay that way and wont default back to auto, even after a full network reboot. (tested on M5 and M4).

As for your 2nd question, the connection preference for some individual clients were set to the X60 while others to M5. ( btw some devices wont even change their connection to the selected preferred deco to reflect the manual settings.

On a side note, downgrading the M5 FW from 1.7.6eu to 1.7.4eu did not fix the issue.

All changes has been done using  an android 12 device with deco app ver. 3.7.14

Current deco's FW.

X60 - 1.2.0 Build 20231221 Rel 61901

M5 - 1.7. 6 Build 20240305 Rel 38320

M4 - 1.7.0 Build 20240307 Rel. 49485

Kind regards.

*edit: updating deco app to ver. 3.7.22 and clearing cache with same results

  @ARGamingPK1

Are you using a switch ? In my experience, switches that operate on 5 volts rather than 12 volts gave me super strange wiered issues with decos. Like all kind of internet cut outs deco restarting for no reason. And the worst one was the whole network will blackout if i turned off my tv which is connected through ethernet which does not make any sense !!! only after replacing that 5v network switch allllll the wonky stuff stopped. Even Tp-link warns against some network switches that are known to have packet compatibility issues in regards to decos

So make sure you are using a deco "compatible network switch".

Also for some odd reason, i found that main decos ( the one that connects to your modem and then isp) can be very finicky to the point it wont connect to the internet unless using the Ethernet cable it came with.

Lastly, decos hate switching between access point and router mode. After switching modes i recommend resetting the deco and after setting it up make sure to check all minor and advanced options like : Nat forwarding -->SIP ALG

                                     -->UPNP  ...etc.. even though after resetting a deco all the above mention options should be ON by default but in my case defaulted to OFF which can make you scratch the heck out of your head

I know it doesn't make any sense but thats what happened when i experimented with switching working modes.

Hope that helped somehow.

Cheers
