Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.2

I’ve configured my new C120 camera to trigger an alarm only when it detects a person—and only a person. It works as intended, but it also triggers the alarm when someone riding a bike (and wearing a full helmet) enters the detection area. That’s fine, but I wonder if the camera’s AI algorithm is really smart enough to recognize that there’s a human on the bike, even though the face isn’t visible and the body is "disturbed" by the bike structure.

Hi,
You can try to enable the Notification feature on the Tapo C120's Device Settings page, and check if you will receive a person-detected notification when someone riding a bike enters the detection area.
If so, it means the camera can recognize that there's a human on the bike.
Best Regards

In my previous message I said that the C120 is actually detecting a person driving a bike, but since the camera is set to detect only persons, I was somewhat surprised that the person gets detected even when wearing a full helmet and, being on a bike, showing only a part of the (almost immobile) body and in a particular posture.

In other words, is the camera software trained to recognize human beings even in such conditions? If so, chapeau to TAPO engineers! Or, did detection just occur while it was not supposed to occur?

Hi,
The detection algorithms on the camera is able to identify human beings in such conditions.
