Fixed! Tapo camera won't connect! tried 3 seperate networks?

Hi,
Been trying to get the camera to connect for 2 days and it won't connect to the network.
The app will connect to the camera, i think? as it shows in the wifi list and i'm able to go to the next stage where it searches for my network. But it immediately says unable to connect. tried on 3 differemt metworks at different locations and the same thing.
checked router isn't set to wpa3 only
changed the bandwidth from 20mhz to 40 mhz
tried multiple things in the router settings and nothing.
Even tried re-setting the camera even though its brand new.
TP-Link router as well. Archer VR2800
Just to add i've also tried hard wired with a cable, same result.
I bought 3 cameras! so before i take them back is there something im missing?
Didn't think it would be so difficult to do this. I've done much more techy things than connect a camera in an app!!
Thanks chris

Hi,
The fix in the end was to delete the app off my phone and re download it again and start again. Also reset the camera even thought it was new and bought the day before!
this time it worked! Even though the camera was new and the app had recently been downloaded from the App Store.
Anyway delete and re download the app fixed it.
4 cams all set and working now

Hi,
You can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot when failing to set up the camera.
What should I do if I fail to configure Tapo Camera?
If the problem remains, you can try the following tips.
1) Ensure the Smart Connect on the router is disabled.
2) Set the 2.4G wireless security type to WPA2-PSK and do not include special characters in the Wi-Fi password and Wi-Fi name.
3) Press the reset button on the camera for 10 seconds to factory reset it before configuring it, then reconfigure it for a try.
4) If the problem remains, enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, reset the camera, and configure it with a different phone, then check if you can set it up successfully.
Best Regards

I have 6 brand new Tapo cameras and during the day I can't get 5 of them to connect. They usually work at night. I am so frustrated with this I am close to putting in a box and sending it back. I am getting very little help from Tapo and their answers take a day I assume because they are in China.

Hi,
are you using a WiFi extender? This is how I get a stronger WiFi signal to the furthest cameras. Without the extender it was hit or miss. WiFi activity is higher during the day and more prone to drop out.
so getting a stronger signal would be my guess

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported issue.
1. Are there any changes on your network during the day?
2. What's the model number and hardware version of your camera? What's the LED status on your camera during the day? How about at night?
3. Do you control the camera locally or remotely during the day and night?
Best Regards
