Hello everyone.

I have installed C325WB a couple of weeks ago in my building on my floor. The connection to the camera is over Ethernet, and the access to the video feed and recordings is shared with my neighbors and I have complaints from them that some time there is no notifications and recordings on events. Till now this has been happening 4 times. Someone exits their apartment goes to the elevator and no notification or recording for the event. I have set 2 motion areas, one is the elevator door and the other is the stairwell. The motion sensitivity is set to 5. Anyone experience something similar and some fix maybe.

Hi,
You can refer to the following instructions to troubleshoot if the detection feature is not working. In this case, maybe increasing the detection sensitivity value will be helpful.
What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?
 

If the problem remains, please confirm the following information.  
  1. Have you shared the camera with your neighbors' TP-Link account, or have you shared your TP-Link account with them?
  2. Does the camera store the video recordings on the SD card inserted into the camera?
  3. Please go to the camera's Device Settings > Detection page, send me a picture of this page, and check the sensitivity value of the enabled detection types.

Hi,

At the moment i turned on person detection too. Set new detection areas that are the same for person and motion detection and still some of the notificatinons do not include motion detected only person detected.

 

1. I have shared the camera with a different tapo account who is linked to my account.

2. The camera have 256gb sd card installed.

3. The detection sensitivity is set to 5

Hi,
On the Tapo app > Home tab > Bell icon > Tapo C325WB page, could you please send me a picture of this page showing that there is a person-detected notification but not a motion-detected notification? It would be appreciated if you could send us the pictures of the notifications around the motion that is not detected.

On the camera's Device Settings > Notifications > Activity Type page, have you selected Motion Detection and Person Detection?

Yes, you can see that in my previous post i did send you the screenshot. I will include now again a screenshot from my notifications, to see that i some ocasions motiondetections work.

Hi,
Some Tapo cameras have priority for notification push. For example, when a person is detected, only the person-detected notification is pushed, not the motion-detected notification. We recommend going to the camera's live view > Playback & Download > Playback > SD card page to check if there is a person and motion icon on the video clip where a person is detected.

I can confirm that in sd card storage motion and person detection is correct, but the problem was when only the motion detection is enabled some events are missing ( no recordings and no notifications). That was the original problem. For now with person and motion detection everything works. I hope there will be no more missing events.

Hi,
In your situation, you can try to keep the current Detection settings and enable the continuous recording function for some time for a test.

If there is motion but no notification is received and no detection video clip is stored, you can download the corresponding video from the SD card and send it to us for analysis. (You can upload the video to your cloud server(such as Google Drive), generate a link to download it, and send me(@Solla-topee) the link via a private message.)

Maybe i try to roll back the setting when the problem was noted, but for now i will continue to use motion and person detection. I hope this will work fine and there will be no missing notifications and recordings.
