Hello, I've updated today X10 and seeing vpn but not access control option. Please guide me about it. 
But my main concern is about slow speed in second and third unit. My house is just 1500 sqft but I have two M5 and one X10. I thought my M5 is not enough so bought x10 and made is main unit. But I can't get speed more than 10-30% from second and third unit. Is there anyway I can get better speed from second or third unit. All device are very nearly placed. Like 3M from each. Main has one wall middle and other two open spaces. Dinning and Living. 
I am fed up with this also I can't set frequency and channel numbers to get better speed from 2.4gz. To prevent access from other people can't do mac filter too. 
I can write a full paragraph about the issue. 
please help me if you guys can.

Hi, welcome to the community.

"WiFi Access Control" needs the support of all Deco units in the Mesh system. Deco M5 with the latest firmware version doesn't support it yet.

While VPN features only need the support of the main Deco X10.

 

As for the speed issue on the two satellite M5s, can I have a screenshot of the current network map, such as:

Can you also add some pictures of the speedtest results from both the main Deco and satellite Deco units?

It is also suggested to refer to Slow speed on satellite Deco for more suggestions.

  @David-TP Hello, thank you for your response. I have tested from every rooms. but not sure why showing it's connected to main unit. it not should be. however, here is the ss of all tests.

  @David-TP sorry for posting couple of. I don't know if there ahy way to post all images at once. 
however, the vpn feature also not working well. I have pure vpn subscription and tested direct login by openvpn and it's showing connecting but never connected. Only PPTP working from all the other protocols. There two more protocols for vpn. WireGuard and IKEV2 

why these are not in the list? 
please review my all replies and combine your one reply. Thanks

Hi, Thanks for the pictures.

How are you running these speed tests?

The following two tests:

236/421 download/upload
153/147 download/upload

If one is from the main X10, the other is from one satellite M5; the speed from the satellite unit seems quite great.

As the Mesh units are connected via WiFi Backhaul, due to the working pattern and protocol/regulation of Wi-Fi technology, the more wireless hops, the slower the speed would be.

The satellite M5 can usually get 50-60% from the main Deco X10.

Why is my satellite Deco unit not getting the same speed as the main Deco?

PS: Both Deco X10 and Deco M5 support "Connection Preference", you should be able to set the preferred Deco and WiFi bands for mobile devices.

 

For the VPN connection, which VPN service did you subscribe to?

Deco X10 only supports PPTP/L2TP/OpenVPN protocols, and it doesn't support WireGuard VPN yet.

It is suggested to refer to Deco OpenVPN Client Always Connecting for more suggestions.

  @David-TP Hello, thanks for your reply. if this is the nature to be 50-60% slow then what difference between deco and wifi ranger. not sure. However, suggest me a model which will be good pair up with X10 and have all latest features in 2025 router has. because I am going to change M5. 
and I have Pure VPN subscription right now. I prefer Ipsec over Cisco because pure VPN doesn't support Ipsec over L2TP
