How to unbrick NX510v?

Model: NX510v
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 3.0.0 v6060.0 Build 230728 Rel.72002n

I have a NX510v that appears to be an ex-ISP unit and I want to upgrade the firmware.

I can't seem to put it into recovery mode and there are no UI options for upgrading manually. How can I force it to upgrade to a newer version?

Ideally I'd like to find out the sequence for forcing it into recovery mode. The item was sold unlocked by a store but the ISP doesn't want to know about it.

Or is there a chance that the Aginet app will be able to upgrade the firmware when the next version is made available OTA?

I have the 5G disconnection issue but otherwise it's a very good modem/router for me.

thanks in advance,

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

It is very likely that the firmware version of service providers' models removed the local upgrade option, and the router can only receive new firmware releases via OTA through the Agnet APP.

There hasn't been an instruction for firmware recovery on NX510v. It is recommended to contact the local technical support for further assistance:

Thanks a lot.

Best regards.

Thank you for the speedy reply.

Indeed the Aginet app does have a firmware upgrade option but it does not find any new OTA releases and it does not have a local upgrade option. I don't know if this is because there's no available official firmware or if the ISP has somehow intercepted this check.

The unit will only start up with a SIM inserted and is very slow to restart (3+ minutes) because I presume it tries to contact the ISP and fails. Since the NX510v can work as a normal router with a wired WAN it shouldn't require a SIM to start up. The ISP did a real job on this and now they sell these units on.

I'll just have to hope that a new firmware becomes available and that Aginet can apply the upgrade.

Would be great if a recovery option becomes available because it seems there are probably hundreds of these ex-ISP units escaping into the wild across Europe.
