My Tapo td21 smart doorbell camera, is not detecting anything unless I open the app on my phone. Once I open the app it starts to detect, otherwise it doesn't. Any solution to this? My firmware is upto date.

Hi,
Based on your reported phenomenon, it seems the key is that the camera cannot be woken up from sleep mode by the event. This may be related to the camera settings and the specific event. We suggest you refer to Part 2 of the following guide to adjust the camera settings and position to see if that helps.
What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?
 

If the same phenomenon persists, please confirm the following information.
  1. Please send us the screenshots of the camera's Device Settings > Detection page, Wake-up Sensitivity page, Detection Zone page, and the enabled detection types pages.


  2. You can reproduce the event that can't wake up the camera, recording it on the camera's Live View page, downloading it, and then sending it to us.

 

You can upload the video and screenshots to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.
