Dear Support Team,

 

I am experiencing issues with my Tapo C510W cameras. Both cameras are connected to the internet and have motion detection and notifications enabled. However, they do not send any notifications, and no events are being recorded.

 

The cameras do detect movement when I view them live, but the motion events are not logged, and I do not receive any alerts. I have tried removing the cameras from the app and setting them up from scratch, but the problem persists.

 

Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue? Any guidance on troubleshooting or possible firmware updates would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
For the reported phenomenon, please provide the following information for further analysis.

 

1. Do you have an SD card inserted into the camera for video storage? If so, please refer to the instructions below to check whether your storage settings are correct.
How can I store the Tapo camera video recordings on a microSD card
 

2. Please refer to the instructions below to enable the Alarm feature on the camera. Then test if the camera will alarm when it detects events.
How to configure the Alarm feature for Tapo Cameras on the Tapo app
 

3. Typically, you can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot if your camera's detection feature does not work.
What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?

If the above instructions do not help, please provide the following information.
  1) In the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Detection page, please send us the screenshots of the detection, detection zone, and enabled detection types pages.
  2) Please send us the videos showing that there are motions, but the camera won't record them. For example, you can record a video manually on the camera's live view page.
  3) Then, please upload the videos to your cloud server (such as Google Drive) or YouTube, generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.
