  @Joseph-TP

Is this firmware include following features?

7. Fast Roaming with 802.11r Support

Seamless client roaming is enhanced through native support for the IEEE 802.11r (Fast BSS Transition) protocol across the EasyMesh network. Compatible devices will experience near-instantaneous handoffs between nodes - ideal for real-time applications like VoIP and video streaming.

8. Roaming Bindings for Client Affinity

Gain granular control over client mobility with Roaming Bindings. You can now pin specific devices (e.g., smart TVs or IoT sensors) to a designated EasyMesh node, preventing unnecessary roaming and improving connection stability for latency-sensitive or stationary clients

Pre-Release (1.3.4 Build 20260618)

I installed the new R3 pre-release on my GE800 today.

What works well:

•  Guest and IoT networks are now propagating to my wired satellite (BE9700) with good stability and minimal drops when roaming (so far okay)

•  Client binding feature is working (able to pin specific devices to preferred nodes) (so far okay)

•  Traffic Separation and Backhaul Steering options are now available. (Make sure to check these 2 boxes under advanced > easymesh > your main router (edit))

Areas needing improvement:

•  MLO propagation across nodes is still limited — noticeable signal drops when roaming.

•  6 GHz SSID continues to broadcast on satellite even when hidden on the main router.

•  Fast Roaming (802.11r) and advanced Roaming Bindings / Client Affinity do not appear to be active yet.

@Jasson_Hong ,

I think the content shared regarding the firmware experience with CacheMode is clear enough to serve as a reference:

  @Joseph-TP with this firmware there's no clients in the list on the Tether app, so using the security subscription is not possible.

 Oh and my original client list problem where at any time 20 to 30 percent of the clients are not seen in the client list on the router.

Since I have just over 100 clients the client count shown is 70 to 80.

  @Joseph-TP

 Hope you are doing well.

Thanks for the new firmware.

Here is my first impression:

  • Bufferbloat: The test shows it is much better than before.
  • AI QoS Issue: The attached picture shows my PS5 is working. However, the acceleration apps are not working. They worked twice to accelerate my games, but then they stopped.
  • WTFast: I do not think I need WTFast right now if the GE800 can accelerate games well on its own. WTFast was not working well on the GE800 before anyway.

It seems that the wireless disconnection problem is much worse than it was in earlier firmware, I see unstable IoT devices and connected devices list droping to close to 50, that's only half the devices that are online.

  @raven-au I concur with you

My observations after 24 hours of install:

Additional Feedback on R3 Pre-Release (1.3.4 Build 20260618) – IoT Stability

Continuing testing.

Positive:

•  Guest and IoT network extension is working significantly better with minimal visible drops when roaming between nodes.

Issues observed:

•  Intermittent IoT / 2.4 GHz instability still occurs. Multiple devices going offline, sometimes with many reconnect notifications.

•  This has happened after roughly 24+ hours of uptime in at least one case.

•  Tether app client list remains inaccurate and frequently shows “Operation failed” on refresh.

MLO roaming still shows noticeable signal drops. Looking forward to improvements in future builds, especially around IoT reliability and client list handling.

@raven-au ,

It appears that your situation is similar to what is described for CacheMode; the main anomalies are:
1. Intermittent instability in IoT and 2.4GHz connections.
2. Incomplete device list display in the app.

To help you efficiently, I've forwarded your case to the TP-Link support engineers, who will reach out to you using your registered email address later. Please keep an eye on your email inbox for follow-up.

Hi @CacheMode ,

Noting that you have been in contact with the engineer, please email the router's backup file directly to them for further analysis.heart
