Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Is there any way to control the settings of a c200 camera without the use of the app?

I would like to toggle motion detection and alerts from home assistant or an url inside the network.

This would be great if it existed.

Example rtsp://user:pass@192.168.1.x/?motion_detection=false

Support told me to
"You may try iSpy, Happytime ONVIF Client, ONVIF Device Manager, it may help."

Anyone?

@Spinevans

The camera supports the standard ONVIF protocol which allows users to control it through third-party software like Happytime ONVIF Client, ONVIF Device Manager, etc.

Please refer to the instruction here for more details.

And what about PTZ? Cannot get this to work in any ONVIF compliant SW.

@mawa

Hello, sorry to tell you that the ONVIF compliant SW does not support this feature; instead, we need use Tapo app to use PTZ.

@FrancescoC Hello,

Thank you for your feedback, unfortunately tapo camera does not have a Alexa voice command for its alarm settings. We will record your suggestion for further evaluation.  Here is the  Alexa voice commands that tapo camera currently supports:

Lately I've been convinced that TP-Link sell unfinished products. Including Tapo C200, C210, Deco M9. - Alexa integration label on the box is a big lie ("future firmware update") - There are no any smart functions, it is crazy to be unable to switch alarm/privacy mode with simple LOCAL http/s request. This is not smart device, this is unfinished dumb device.

Frustrated Deco (X90, M9 Plus, M4R, E4) & Tapo (C200, C210) owner looking for solutions to use the investment in them. Expensive Plastic...

@Spinevans You are right. I need the option to de-/activate the privacy mode per simple HTTP(S) requests for all my cameras, too. A simple API would help so much people here.

@GOIET

Just like the Decos, @TP-Link Tapos are just prototypes, not completed products...
