Tapo P100 power outage
I have a problem, I really like Tapo P100 and want to change my starting status.
My problem is that after a power outage, the p100 does not remember theprevious state and is always turned off.
How do I changeit ? Is there any setting for a power outage?

The "always off" behavour after a power outage renders this device useless for me too.
What a stupid decision not to let the user choose.
Glad I only bought one unit to test. Off to try different brands now.

Hi I just bought one of these today, it said a firmware update was available and when it updated the new firmware number was 1.4.9.
In the settings on the Tapo app there's a section called "default state" and that can be set to "on" or "off" so that regardless of the power interruption you can set the state you want.
Thanks

@kate53 It's an annoying problem.
What i do as an imperfect workaround is to schedule device to "on" (with no off action) every 3 hours or so, repeating every day.
If the device is on anyway because there's no power outage, no biggie.
If it's off because of an outage at least it switches itself back on at the set time. (you're still out potentially a few hours though)

@Solla-topee I've updated the Firmware of all my Tapo P100 plugs to version 1.3.4. But I still couldn't find the 'Default State' option. I have Hardware Version 1.0 (Asia).

I have 4 (four) smart plugs Tapo P100 Hardware Version 1.0.0 Firmware Version 1.3.4 Build 20200925 Rel. 33922 and I do require this function - to have the possibility to set default state after power failure, or even better, an option to resume its state as it was before the power failure as for the scheduled state.
Right now I have a workaround for this situation, but it might be not always applicable - I connect the smart plugs after a UPS, but it might be a costly solution. Otherwise the smart plugs are functioning properly - no other complaints, never dropped a connection and operate as expected.
