Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.17

After upgrading the firmware to 1.0.17, the camera shows the following message about microSD card.

"This microSD card seems to have an abnormal expansion capacity which may put your data at risk. Replacing the microSD card is recommended."

The microSD card is Sandisk Class 10 128 GB card. This worked fine before upgrading the firmware.

Now the camera does not show any recordings in the microSD card.

@SNRK

Hi,

Could you please refer to this link and install the H2testw on your Windows computer (a similar tool called “F3” on Mac OS, and an app called SD Insight on Android device) and run the test.

It will show you the real capacity of your SD card.

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

@TP-Link, This was working before updating the the firmware version. It was able to recognize full 128 Gb (118 GB approximately considering 1024 bytes per KB).

@TP-Link

I checked the card on a computer there were recordings happening though it reports error about the SDCard. I replaced the card. It is now SanDisk Extreme 64 GB. The error is gone. But I am not able to playback in the app. It says "Network is unstable. Please try again later.". But my network bandwidth is good (more than 100 Mbps).

@TP-Link recently, the firmware has been upgraded to version 1.1.8. The SD Card problem still remains same. Sometimes it shows it is working fine, sometimes it shows there is a problem. Multiple cards from Sandisk and Samsung have been tested. With the new firmware, a new problem has started. The camera reboots multiple times in a day, though the power supply is uninterrupted.

@SNRK Hello,

Do you mean camera reboot automatically? How about the Led status on camera at that time?

If you are using any power extension cord for tapo camera, please remove the extension cord.

It is recommended to use the original tp-link power cord for cord.

If you have any other 9V power cord, please try a different power cord and see if still reboots.

As the issue sound pretty unusual. To address the issue and try to fix it, we would like to have a specialist look into this further via email with forum ID 254570. Please check your mailbox later, and let us know if the issue is resolved. Thank you!
