Hi everyone,

 

I have 4 Tapo C420 cam connected to a H200 hub, two of them has firmware version 1.2.9 but two of them has 1.2.7. 

 

One of the cameras with fw version 1.2.7 notified me about a new firmware (1.2.9) so I started to update the camera. Unfortunately it downloads the new fw for a while, but then says "Everything is up to date, FW version 1.2.7", so there weren't any update in place.

 

My other camera with fw version 1.2.7 doesn't have the notification and when I try to check for updates for it it says this is the most recent version.

 

The framework I would like to update to is 1.2.9 Build 20230626 rel.51862

 

What can be the problem?

How can I update it?

i have the same problem.

I am using C420S2/A.

 

The two C420s are in the following states.

 

C420 (1): 1.2.9 Build 20230626 rel.51862
C420 (2): 1.2.7 Build 20230426 rel.34233

 

common:
   Connection Hub H200: Ver1.2.19

   Hardware Version: V1

 

It's been a few days since the C420 (1) was upgraded to 1.2.9, but the C420 (2) still shows 1.2.7 as the latest.

Hi, 
Thank you for the case report. 

We are releasing the new firmware gradually, and not all Tapo Cam receive the new firmware simultaneously. For the camera that does not receive the new firmware notification, please wait patiently for the new firmware.

 

@T_Zsolt For the camera detected the new firmware but fails to update, please try to reboot the camera and the hub and then check if you can update the firmware successfully.

 

If the problem remains, please help collect the following information for further analysis.
1) The MAC address of the problematic Tapo C420.
2) The screenshots or videos showing the updating process.
3) Please refer to the link to collect the device log and send it to me.
And you can send me a link via private message to download the above info.
