Model: KE100 KIT
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 2.6.0

After using Kasa KE100 thermostat for a couple of days I have discovered a very annoying behavior which I seems cannot get rid off:
When the target temperature is set to say 22 degrees and the current is say 21, KE100 turns on to what seems to be full power and quickly heats the room to 24-25 degrees, then turns off for 20 minutes, then turns on to full again (winter in germany and the heating runs really hot 60-70 degrees).

I personally hate this cycle for a number of reasons and this is not how ppl do it (as a human you would usually increase the heating by a bit check if it got better, if not adjust etc).

My question is:

1. Is there any way to make KE100 gradually adjust valve opening?
2. If not, is it possible to create a lab project (I am quite experienced with programming and can get it done myself but would like a reference) which directly controls valve opening mechanism, not just throught setting a target temperature - I am pretty sure a lot of ppl will love to have a smooth adjusting algorithm.

  @MarkData

Did you set the "Temperature Offset"?

How do you know the temperature is heated to 24-25 degrees? The value displayed through the App? Or is it the value displayed on the TRV?

Frequently Asked Questions about KE100 KIT

Q15: Why the room temperature (Current Temperature) displayed in the APP can be different from the actual room temperature, and what should I do?

The temperature sensed by the temperature sensor of the KE100 is actually the temperature of the water pipe, there is a difference between real room temperature and the water pipe temperature.

To make the Current Temperature closer to the real room temperature, setting up' Temperature Offset' should match your preference.

Displayed Current Temperature=Detected Temperature+Offset.

  @Wayne-TP hi, thanks.

I use temperature sensor in the KE100 itself, i dont mind what temperature it is in the room - for me important is how valve is operated, right now KE100 only does impulse mode -> increase temperature by a lot for a short time and then turn off (repeat during the day), so the temperature diagram of KE100 looks like a blade of a saw. I would prefer -> increase a little bit that it is enough and stay like this.
