MicroSDcard seems to have abnormal expansion capacity

I am using sandisk 128gb xc1 card format with fat32 type.
I am facing an issue after the fw upgrade where the card has stopped working and tapo app shows an error saying MicroSD card seems to have abnormal expansion capacity. Card was working fine earlier.
I have tried everything that is discussed earlier in the community pages like hwtest, reformat, reinsert, even tried to format 32gb only but I have wasted enough time. I can see 256 placeholder files are created on the card but no recording.
I am of the opinion that there is definitely and issue with the FW.
Would appreciate any kind of help here.
Thanks

TP LINK,
Whats your solution here? Even if we run the h2test. its the same. Tried to reformat it using other applications and your tapo cctc wont recognize the 512SD card for tapo c200 or c310.
You better have a fast solution for this issue. It seems that you guys from tp link is preventing the 512 to be used by the users. But in your manual, 512gb is accepted by most of your cctv's

all people complain of this "abnormal expansion capacity error". tp-link only gaslights and say the problem is your sdcard may be fake.
However, everyone with this error so far has a new firmware update in common.
So what is it more likely to be? A firmware update or all our different sdcards are fake?
My c210 was working fine for over a year. After firmware update it stopped recording. I could see a month of videos stored on the card. After trying to format the card using the app, it failed. Old videos were erased and card is still unuseable in the camera.

yup - i'm having the same issue with both of my 2 x C225 cameras
i have a variety of other cameras with the same cards
(i am very picky about the brand of cards i purchase and where i get them from)
all of my other Tapo cameras 3x C310, 1x C320WS, 1x C210 work fine and have all been in use for the same amount of time (4 years), with the same cards for the entirety
recently I've noticed the 2 x C225 show the same error - but when it started I'm unsure (i dont often review the footage)
makes the cameras useless unless they can be relied on.
is anyone at TP-LINK going to address this?

I have filed a ticket with TP-link support. Attached is their response.
In summary, TP-link doesn't admitted that it is the firmware issue. They just blame the memory card. With so many users have the same issue, how could it is a memory issue??
These days TAPO carmers are memory card KILLER. Please file ticket to TP Link to addess your issue. I think that Amazon should remove this product from its Web site.

Here are some steps to help you resolve this issue:
1. Update Firmware: Ensure both your camera and the Tapo app are updated to the latest versions.
2. Use Compatible High Endurance Cards: MicroSD cards have a limited lifespan for read/write cycles. For best results, use microSD cards designed for surveillance (High/Max/Pro Endurance). You can check if your SD card is compatible with your Tapo camera here: https://www.tapo.com/faq/111/
3. Check for Encryption: If your SD card was previously encrypted in another Tapo camera, insert it back into that camera and disable encryption. To do this, go to Tapo app > Camera's Device Settings > Storage & Recording > Local Storage > Encrypt microSD Card > Decrypt.
4. Reinsert the Card: Power off your camera, remove and reinsert the SD card several times, then power the camera back on and check if the issue persists.
5. Try Another Card: If possible, test with another High Endurance microSD card to see if the problem is with the card itself.
6. Test on Other Devices: Insert the card into another camera or use a computer with an SD card reader to check if it can be recognized or formatted elsewhere.
7. Verify Card Integrity: Use third-party software like H2testW (Windows) to check the real capacity and integrity of your card: https://www.tapo.com/faq/54/
Note: Please back up any important files before initializing or formatting your microSD card.
