The Tapo C200 V1 & V2 do not support the feature to display the detection video thumbnails under the timeline on the Playback page.

last week i was able to view those thumbnails, not sure if its because of a recent update? since mine is set to automatic update.

Hi,
It may be you have other Tapo camera models support the thumbnail preview and you see the thumbnail on that model's Playback page.
There is no new firmware released for the Tapo C200 V1 recently, and it never support this feature.

i only have 1 c200 and the rest are outdoor cameras,
c200 was my very first camera a year before i had the outdoor cameras purchased, so it is really impossible for me to miss the thumbnail preview for the c200 v1.
if i do a factory reset on the c200 v1 will the device return to its original setup when i first purchased it?

Hi，
A factory reset will remove the configurations on the camera but won't change the firmware. If you have not upgraded the firmware on the camera, a factory reset on the camera will return it to its original setup when you first purchase it.
